Two time WKA Full Contact World Champion and current 60kg WKA (World Kickboxing Association) World Champion will fight for a third World Title. O’ Donnell will move up in weight to fight for the 64kg WKL (World Kickboxing League) Full Contact World Title and he will square off against Joshua Ferry from the famous Hebron Kickboxing Gym in Dunganon. Ferry is currently the WKL European Full Contact champion, Northern Ireland Full Contact Champion and in 2011 achieved Fighter of the year Award in the Hall of Fame.
O’ Donnell along side head coach’s Jason McCabe and John Rosborough has started to prepare for the fight in April. O’ Donnell has been given a new training plan to help him take his fitness and technique to another level, he has started working on every morning. Later that day O’ Donnell will then meet up with Strength and Conditioning Coach (and Sponsor) Derek Lynch at Extreme Fitness for another strenuous work out.
When it was first announced that O’ Donnell would face off against Ferry he was asked “ Do you think you can beat Ferry judging by his record and seeing him fight”. O’ Donnell responded, “I have a fantastic team around me, my coach’s John, Jason and Derek have been working me hard. John and Jason have carefully selected my sparring partners for this camp so I am very confident that I can get the job done.
